Group Events

Group events are Interpretation events that involve more than one student. Similar to solo Interpretation events, these are cut from a book or script, can involve the portrayal of multiple characters, and must be fully memorized.

Dramatic Duo (DUO)

 

A team of two students perform a scene from a play. This performance usually has off-stage focus and intentional contact between competitors is not allowed. Stage props are prohibited. Actors can play more than one character. Can be humorous or dramatic in nature. Performance is memorized.

This is a Nationals and a State event.

Oral Interpration of Drama (OID)

 

A team of three to five students perform a cutting from a play. The performance usually requires off-stage focus and no intentional contact between performers. Students are allowed to play more than one character. Manuscripts are required.
